Stephen Fry

I love Stephen Fry. I'll even admit that I might have become obsessed with him a bit in the last two weeks or so.

In my book, this man can do no wrong. Except maybe when the bad side of his bipolar disorder comes out.  Since I've never met, I have never had to experience it. In England, he is the host of a brilliantly funny game show called QI. The show is so popular in the country that it is on its 9th! season (or series as the Brits would call it). He has appeared in a number of good shows & movies. He was in V for Vendetta, Alice in Wonderland, Sherlock Holmes 2, the upcoming The Hobbit, Bones.

                                                                      Best Bits of QI

Originally he became famous for being part of a duo of comedians that entertained Britain in the early 1980s. A Bit of Fry and Laurie. Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. Yep, the guy who plays House on...House. Before he played a Vicodin-addicted narcisstic curmedgeon, Hugh Laurie played numerous roles in which he was an idiot or a transgender.

"Slightly Mad"

But back to Stephen Fry. He has even written books! Back in 2008 he wrote a book entitled "Stephen Fry in America". The book was to accompany a miniseries that was shown in Britain. Fry traveled all 50 states to learn what made America what it is. He learned what was unique about each state and why there is no one region that can fully define America.

In New Jersey, he visited Atlantic City. He was not fully pleased with the place. He even hated it more when he saw Donald Trump's "Taj Mahal".

"For taking the name of the priceless mausoleum of Agra, one of the beauties and wonders of the world. For that alone Donald Trump should be stripped naked and whipped with scorpions. Along the boardwalk, it is as if a giant toad has roped a butterfly."

And this is why I love Stephen Fry. He speaks his mind. He does not sugarcoat anything. If he doesn't like something, he will let you know. And he is able to say it in such a creative way. And I do rather enjoy the image of Donald Trump being stripped naked (including that thing that is on his head - that needs to go) and whipped with scorpions.
