Back from oblivion

Whoo! Its been a while since I've written a post. My bad. I've been either too busy, too lazy, or too unimaginative.

Let's seee - what has happened since my last post. The exciting parts (at least for me)
- I went to London
- I added another year to my age
- I bought a bike!
- I started a new job!
- I threw myself back into fit-shape!

London
Ok so London is pretty awesome. I studied there in the fall of 2010. And this was my first time back since. I was there for a week with my mother from Feb. 7th to the 14th (Whoo! I got to miss Valentine's day on both continents, silly commercial holiday!). Our goal was to go and visit my sister and spy on her living situation for our grandmother. Our grandmother is a typical Jewish one. If you don't know what that means - watch this!

If you didn't understand that - its all about trying to feed the grandson and finding out info about his life.

Anywho, back to London. I prefer it over NYC. I'm a sucker for history and that's what attracts me there. Everything just looks so awesome. The city is much smaller than NYC so it seems that everything is a lot more accessible. The food has also improved a lot - there's a bunch more variety. They also label everything that is vegetarian. It makes my life so much easier! Especially in candy land. You would be surprised how much gelatin is in candy - curse you marshmallows, starbursts, skittles, etc! I miss you very much. We'll reacquaint when I'm pregnant.

The people! The people! On how I love them! For the most part, they are all super sweet. They have the tendency to say "sorry" even if you're the one guilty of bumping into them. I do it a lot so its nice to know there's a whole city which does it as well.

And the accents! I am yet to meet someone who does not like the British accent - at least the generic one. I wish I had that accent! Everything just sounds so much  more...proper and rich. British people also have a way with cursing someone out. They get so creative, it probably comes from Shakespeare.
Thank you Stephen Fry!!

Whilst in London, we also went to Brussels. It...sucked. It may be the unofficial capital of the European Union but there's not much to do. Unless you like chocolate and Belgian beer. For 36 hours my sister, mother, and I visited every chocolate shop to exist in Brussels. Why? A. Because its chocolate. B. It was so cold we were constantly trying to find a place to warm up. C. The museums were not something that we wanted to explore this time. D. Its chocolate.

My sister and I were also very keen on seeing the pissing boy - Manneken Pis. DISAPPOINTMENT. The poor boy is no bigger than a dachsund dog!

Which one is taller?

I'll give it to Belgium though - they know how to make waffles and beer.

If you ever decide to travel to London, I would suggest flying with Virgin Atlantic. They might be a bit more expensive than some other airlines but they are worth it. In economy class, the food is actually edible and served frequently. Also, their entertainment actually lets you choose from a variety of choices of what you want to watch and when. Can't say that American does that these days in economy class. Oh and you're provided with a sleep mask, socks, and a toothbrush. Sweeeet!
